ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND TRAINING CONFERENCE

Theme: PRHHA: a Partner in Public Safety

Date: September 28-30, 2011

Location: Carriage House Inn, 9030 McLeod Trail South, Calgary, Alberta

This conference is an opportunity to develop and renew connections, facilitate learning and create community within our association.

The conference will feature an update on the PRHHA Connectivity Project; a facilitated workshop for front line staff; a keynote address by Chief Rick Hanson from Calgary Police Services on the topic “How do Halfway Houses contribute to Public Safety?”; workshops on Motivational Interviewing, Self-Care, and Working with Lifers. We’ve planned a reception for Wednesday late afternoon so staff from across the Region can meet and greet each other. In addition, lunch on Thursday is included, where we will be entertained by a therapeutic clown Cheryl Oberg. Cheryl Ann Oberg is a certified laughter leader, founding member of the Canadian Association of Therapeutic Clowns, and founder of Calgary’s Caring Clown Association. She’s also a gold member of the Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor.
